Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and performing labor-intensive tasks to assist with construction, maintenance, and other physical work on job sites. This role requires the ability to work efficiently and safely while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a range of equipment, including but not limited to bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, loaders, and skid steers to perform various tasks such as digging, grading, moving materials, and trenching.
- Labor Duties: Perform manual labor tasks as needed, such as digging, lifting, hauling materials, setting up job sites, and cleaning up work areas.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and regulations while operating equipment and performing labor tasks. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Site Preparation and Cleanup: Assist in preparing and cleaning up job sites before and after work is completed. This includes setting up barriers, moving debris, and organizing tools and materials.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors and fellow laborers, to ensure timely project completion.
- Material Handling: Load and unload materials such as gravel, concrete, and other construction supplies. Ensure proper storage and distribution of materials on site.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, and cleaning.
- Documentation: Maintain logs and records of equipment use, hours worked, and any relevant site activities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience operating heavy equipment and performing labor tasks in a construction or industrial environment is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift heavy materials, work in varying weather conditions, and perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
