Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Traffic Control Supervisor to oversee and manage traffic control operations for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic around work zones, while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Traffic Management Planning: Develop and implement traffic control plans (TCPs) that minimize disruption and ensure safety during construction activities.
- Supervision: Oversee traffic control personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective traffic management.
- Site Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with traffic control standards and regulations.
- Coordination: Liaise with local authorities, emergency services, and stakeholders to coordinate traffic control measures and address any concerns.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all traffic control measures meet safety regulations and standards, conducting risk assessments as needed.
- Equipment Management: Manage and maintain traffic control equipment, ensuring all signage, cones, and barriers are properly placed and in good condition.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities, incidents, and equipment usage. Prepare reports for management as required.
- Training: Conduct training sessions for traffic control personnel on best practices, safety protocols, and new regulations.
- Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve traffic-related issues that arise during construction operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in traffic management or safety is a plus.
- Certifications: Valid traffic control supervisor certification and relevant safety training (e.g., OSHA).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards; experience with traffic control devices and equipment.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
