Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic cardiopulmonary evaluations and therapy treatments to care for patients with deficiencies and dysfunctions of the cardiopulmonary system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Administering clinical care, including aerosol medications, breathing exercises, and dyspnea management.
- Educating patients on disease prevention, cardiopulmonary health, and medication compliance.
- Accurately documenting clinical information in patient medical records and billing documents.
- Communicating patient assessments and updates with healthcare teams and referring physicians.
- Maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety management and infection control procedures.
- Scheduling patient appointments for diagnostic and rehabilitative therapy services.
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree from a COARC-approved respiratory care program or an approved Nursing program.
- Licensed to practice respiratory therapy or nursing by the state board of professional regulation.
- National certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
