Job Summary
The Specialist, Material Handler & Scheduler ensures the efficient and effective flow of materials, and order fulfilment within the FL facility. The position collaborates with the Memphis facility planning and procurement team to maintain the FL facility production schedule and ensure sufficient raw material and final product inventory. This person works cross-functionally with all support teams to perform manufacturing order management, material and inventory control, and maintenance of the FL facility production schedule.
Key Duties
Coordinate daily tasks with manager ensuring alignment with company goals and deliverables.
- Independently complete daily assigned tasks following appropriate documents, SOPs, and regulations.
- Adhere to company business etiquette policies and procedures maintaining professional communication and relationships with colleagues and leadership.
- Manage manufacturing orders including creation, monitoring, and closing.
- ERP data management including material issuance, material receipt, material inventory, and routing.
- Assist management with maintaining manufacturing system data integrity including bills of material (BOMS), routing, batch size, and lead times
- Receive, inspect, and label all incoming materials. Store, segregate and organize the inventory in designated storage areas.
- Collaborate with Memphis procurement department to submit purchase orders, set reorder points, and ensure sufficient inventory of materials, reagents, and equipment.
- Manage materials including personal protective equipment (PPE) and dispense to production as required.
- Perform regular raw material inventory cycle counts ensuring inventory accuracy.
- Regularly review all FL facility open orders and POs ensuring each order is satisfied by current inventory or production plan. Collaborate with management to add work orders to the FL production plan.
- Actively participate in weekly production planning and scheduling meetings collaborating with Memphis planning team to report current production status and ensure alignment of ascites demand with the FL facility production plan.
- Assists FL management with the maintenance of the ascites production schedule, continually monitoring schedule and reporting to management any risks to adherence.
- Assists with the maintenance and tracking of on-time delivery and adherence to production schedule metrics.
- Participate in assigned continuous improvement projects for cost reduction and inventory optimization.
- Maintain accurate data sheets, records, and logs in compliance with company SOPs and quality system requirements performing daily review of completed work to correct any errors.
- Performs EPR system and material management training.
- Independently complete all assigned training and read / respond to all daily company correspondences as required.
- Adhere to company confidentiality and safety requirements.
- Primary work requirements include working in an animal laboratory.
- Must be able to concentrate and focus within an animal facility manufacturing floor setting.
- Ability to concentrate, analyze, and solve complex issue throughout day.
- Must be able to routinely lift to 35-50 lbs. during course of the work shift.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (face coverings, gloves, lab coats, etc.) during work shift.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, stoop, reach, push and pull carts throughout the course of the work shift.
- May be required to work outside of normal business hours including evenings and / or weekends to support business needs.
