Title: Direct Support Professional
Position Type: Part time (Part time options available if preferred)
Location: Cottage Grove, MN
Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 9am-2pm, Friday 9am-2pm, E/O Weekend 2pm-8pm
Wage: $22 per hour

MERIDIAN SERVICES provides person centered services to people with intellectual disabilities in a variety of settings, including Residential (group home services), In Home Services/ semi-independent living assistance, vocational services, case management and other supportive programs. Meridian Services was established in 1980 working with SILS persons. Today, we have 30 group homes, 220 In Home/SILS persons, and 120 Case Managers with our company in Minnesota. Our mission is to provide services of the finest quality, so that those we serve will be able to realize their dreams.
Job Summary:
As a Direct Support Professional you will support our people served with daily activities that include working on outcomes designed for each person served at a variety of residential group homes. Outcomes are designed to increase independent in skills. These may include learning more about community resources, finding hobbies, working on personal cares and meal preparations/planning or budgeting. We tailor our services to each person and their needs and wishes.
Additionally, as a Direct Support Professional, the position entails medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and personal cares (baths and helping change briefs) for persons served.
Requirements:
- To be at least 21 years of age per DHS Licensing for staff working in a child foster care site
- Proficiency in spoken and written English communication
- Have a vehicle with current car insurance
- Have an acceptable driving record as determined by Meridian Services policy.
- Successful clearance from a DHS background Study
- Ability to assist with personal cares
- Experience working with challenging behaviors such as physical and verbal behaviors and with Autism is required.
