What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cobol Developer position at Meridian Technologies?
Typical work day is 8am-5pm EST, but a slight flexible schedule can be accommodated as long as core hours of 9am-3pm are included.
OT/weekends as needed, on call rotation
Minimum Required Education:
Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
Minimum Required Work Experience:
6 years-of application development, systems testing or other job related experience.
Required Technologies:
COBOL/APS, mainframe/enterprise systems
Nice To Have:
Health Insurance background, 837 or other X12 transactions, NDVR/TSO, DB2/IMS, CICS transactions
Day To Day:
Coding from technical specifications, testing changes, performing peer code walkthroughs, debugging issues, and migrating through system all the way to production.
Soft Skills:
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with government deadlines, able to work as part of a team with good communication skills and collaboration, self-motivated to perform thorough analysis.
