Description
- Home Every Day
- CDL-A or CDL-B required.
- Drivers operate side-load collection vehicles on pre-assigned routes to pick up solid waste from residential customers.
- Drivers are responsible for assisting employees with the collection and loading of residential waste materials, as well as the transporting of this waste to a landfill or disposal facility.
- Perform Pre and Post Trip inspections, and complete DVIR as set forth by Meridian Waste and D.O.T. guidelines.
- Perform different types light maintenance on assigned vehicles
- Conduct operations in a safe manner and in accordance with Arrow’s safety programs.
- Maintain and clean truck daily. Remove debris from cab. Wash exterior weekly.
- Other duties may be assigned and may vary by location.

Qualifications
- Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position is located. Requires a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
- Comply with Arrow’s drug free workplace policy.
- Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.
- Drivers must be able to read and understand a route map, complete daily driver logs as well as pre and post trip truck inspections.
- Ability to perform pushing, pulling, bending, lifting of up to 75 pounds throughout the shift with or without reasonable accommodations. As well as climb into and out of a truck without repeatedly.
- Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and super visors, understand highway and traffic signals, and be able to make legible entries on paperwork.
