What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Technician position at Meridian Zero Degrees?
Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Technician position is a hands-on position that will be responsible for assembling parts to produce self-service kiosks and lockers. The candidate must possess a history of mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic hand tools and strong attention to detail. The successful individual will be self-motivated, dedicated, and have a good work ethic. This is not your typical assembly line. Our builds are a complex mix of hardware and wiring installation. This also requires a strong eye for detail and quality.
Core Proficiencies/Characteristics:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Read Technical Data Sheet, Variable sheet, and general work order to determine the specifications.
- Assembles fabricated parts at floor stations. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
- Perform pre-work and post-work quality checks to ensure quality.
- Complete all tasks as necessary; assist in other areas as needed.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Have an understanding of production to help improve manufacturing efficiency
Physical Requirements:
Standing, Walking, Sitting, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing, Balancing, Bending, Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Handling and Feeling. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Education:
Blueprint reading and interpretation, Measuring skills and Basic mathematics
