SUMMARY
Under general supervision, repair and maintain simple machinery and mechanical equipment by performing required pre-operational, in-process and post batch inspections. Report damages for customer billing. Assist with cleanup of spills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of this job include the following. These are the duties that define this job and are required to be performed by the incumbent. Other essential duties may be assigned.
- Dismantle devices to gain access to clean and remove/repair defective parts.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Runs devices to test their performance.
- Perform building and plant equipment inspections and audits.
- Perform building and plant upgrades.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Other duties that are or may be assigned to this job.
- Sample incoming raw materials for lab tests, as needed.
- Participate in physical inventories and cycle counting.
- Contribute to team effort, i.e. assisting in any area required, etc.
- Train designated employees on related procedures.
- Participate in safety, loss control, accident, incident and rework investigations, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
In order to qualify for this job the incumbent must possess the following qualifications or be able to secure them within 90 days.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
This job requires this education and/or experience background. Other desirable or preferred education and/or experience may be listed.
- High school diploma;
- Two years related experience or training
COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.

The following mathematical skills are needed for this job.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

- Forklift Driver Certification, required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job requires the following physical demands on a regular basis.
- Up to 2/3 of the time the incumbent will be standing and walking and less than 1/3 of the time sitting.
- Use of hands to handle, reach and lift up to 50 pounds 2/3 of the time and up to 100 pounds or more 1/3 of the time.
- Vision requirements include close vision at 20 inches or less, distance vision at 20 feet or more and depth perceptions to judge spatial relationships.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The typical work environment includes the following but may vary from time to time or change completely due to remodeling, relocation, or restructuring.
Work is performed inside a manufacturing plant environment where the temperature may vary significantly due to changes in temperature outside and constant opening and closing of doors. Noise level may be high from time to time caused by the shifting of parts and assemblies and normal human communication and interaction in a shop, storeroom, and warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $22.00-$31.00 per hour $0.75 shift differential
