Job Summary
Oversee the coordination and control of the daily operation of the division’s accounting and financial reporting activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for streamlining and improving business processes.
- Partner with business leadership to provide transparency for production costs, facility expenses, and profitability through creation of customized reports, dashboards, etc.
- Direct and manage the division’s business’ monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing processes.
- Lead the division’s budgeting process.
- Forecasting the impact of business decisions and expected outcomes on all financial results.
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results for the division.
- Design and create actionable presentations that effectively communicate key financial and operational messages. Understand the importance of both the content being presented as well as the way it is visually shown (including creating/contributing to materials for the Board of Directors, external investors, executive leaders, and others).
- Provide meaningful variance analysis comparing financial results with all relevant comparison points. Provide business narrative to bring the figures to life and drive action. Execute insightful scenario planning and sensitivity analytics.
- Leverage financial expertise and robust business acumen to provide comprehensive decision support. Actively contribute to the creation of strategic and tactical plans.
- Create actionable management reporting and dynamic dashboards to drive a deep understanding of financial and operational performance, using key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Will help lead the migration of acquired companies legacy ERPs onto the division’s existing Global ERP.
- Design, implement and maintain accounting processes, procedures, and related internal controls.
- Responsible for supervising, hiring, training, retaining, and developing staff as needed in accordance with the company’s objectives.
- Being the division’s point of contact for all auditor requests.
- Interface extensively with various groups throughout the organization as well as the executive team.
- Minimal travel (once or twice quarterly).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- CPA is preferred.
- Minimum of eight years or more of accounting experience.
- Public Accounting experience.
- Experience as a Controller in a manufacturing company (specialty chemicals is ideal).
- Cost Accounting experience.
- Strong corporate reporting experience.
- Experience working with small-midsize industrial companies, either as a public-accountant to, or an employee for those organizations.
- A team-player leader, with relationship skills to establish the accounting function as a value-add to operations leadership.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills are a must; also, must have a thorough understanding of business processes and internal controls.
- Ability to identify business improvement opportunities and work as a partner with operations, manufacturing, and sales to capitalize on those opportunities.
- Willingness to wear multiple hats and grow with the company.
- Adept with ERP systems including their implementation into newly acquired companies.
- High proficiency with Excel.
- Familiarity with BI / data visualization tool.
- Ability to lead, motive and coach employees.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with process design and implementation in accounting area.
- Experience interacting effectively across an organization.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Location: Pompano Beach, Florida
Pay: This position has a base salary range of $165,750.00 - $195,000.00. The salary range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
Bonus Pay: Meridian offers a performance-based incentive plan tied to company success. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn a percentage of their salary, with bonus payments distributed yearly.
