Summary
The Production Manager manages personnel and coordinates activities in the warehouse, production, and batching departments. Supervises operators to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with established procedures and manufacturing objectives are achieved. Produces and delivers products by planning, organizing, and evaluating the manufacturing process including labor, materials, and equipment to meet customer requirements. Provides leadership to enhance overall operational effectiveness and efficiency. Drives a safety culture with all operations to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintains a clean working environment by developing and enforcing good housekeeping standards and practices including 5S. Promotes a high level of quality and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manages department labor, manufacturing, and overhead costs to coincide with business objectives.
- Ensures proper storage and handling of all materials to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensures a high level of efficiency, productivity, and utilization of all resources. Research and tests new procedures, techniques, machinery, and materials to lower variable unit costs.
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data (types, quantities, and specifications) and scheduled delivery dates for planning department operations.
- Prepares operational schedules, coordinating with purchasing and planning to ensure quality of products meet specifications, as well as preventing stockouts/delays.
- Conducts time/motion/productivity studies to validate proper standards. Maintains an accurate bill of material for each product produced.
- Prepares and reviews production and operating reports.
- Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.
- Manages the building maintenance program to ensure the facility is operating in a safe manner and in compliance with local regulations.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Includes set-up and line clearance procedures.
- Develops or revises Standard Operating Procedures and observes workers to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Manages trains, disciplines, and hires or promotes departmental employees. Performs annual performance reviews.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Five years in production management, with a preference for experience in chemical manufacturing.
- A proven track record of continuous improvement utilizing Lean Six Sigma. (preferred)
- Good mechanical
- Proven leadership and analytical skills.
- Problem solving skills including Root Cause
- Familiar with manufacturing instructions and ERP
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, spreadsheets, manufacturing techniques, and inventory and financial management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Forklift certified (preferred)
- OSHA safety requirements

Location: Albuquerque, NM
Pay: This position has an salary range of $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 plus a sales incentive plan (SIP). The salary range represents the expected range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
