Position Summary:
The Purchasing Coordinator plays a crucial role in our organization's procurement process by assisting in sourcing, engaging in conversation and purchasing high-quality goods and services. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments across multiple manufacturing sites to understand their procurement needs and objectives.
- Research and identify potential suppliers for indirect categories, comparing prices, quality, and delivery times to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Assist in negotiating contracts for indirect purchases, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
- Process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in product specifications, quantities, and delivery details.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, supplier information, and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and participate in inventory management efforts to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Maintain purchasing and inventory data in company’s ERP system.
- Coordinate with suppliers to track order statuses, resolve delivery issues, and communicate any changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance based on factors such as on-time delivery and product quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions that could impact pricing or availability of goods and services.
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficient procurement practices.
- Track Purchase Orders once placed. Confirm date and time of delivery.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles is a plus.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compare supplier options and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in purchase orders and contract terms.
- Solid organizational skills to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, or procurement software.
- Problem-solving aptitude to address unexpected supply chain issues and develop effective solutions.
- Time management skills to meet procurement deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Understanding of procurement regulations, ethical practices, and compliance standards.

Pay: $22.55-$30.51 per hour
