Job Summary
The QC Supervisor is responsible for quickly gaining an in-depth understanding of the company’s technology, internal processes, and ongoing projects, and applying this knowledge to daily activities of the Quality team. Duties include providing technical support for production, performing quality control activities and resolving quality concerns. Participation in audits, ensuring updated Safety Data, and communicating safety and handling requirements to production teams are crucial in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties apply to this position:
- Rapidly develop an in-depth understanding of company’s technology base, technical and analytical capabilities, internal processes and procedures, on-going projects and priorities – and immediately begin incorporating such knowledge into daily activities.
- Collaborate with the Product Development team on providing initial and on-going technical support for finished products and raw materials.
- Guide, mentor and role model continuous improvement of the product development and technical support capabilities.
- Assist in performing timely quality control on incoming raw materials, in-process, and finished goods and coordination of test results
- Adjust formulas to reduce variation in finished goods from variations in raw materials
- Perform lab work to confirm adjustments before they are communicated to production
- Review manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing and sampling.
- Follow up with implemented programs to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.
- Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
- Make proactive recommendations and offering/presenting solutions to improve quality and work efficiency.
- Share knowledge, skills and information with other personnel in the quality and other departments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards.
- Participate in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections, and corrective action response.
- Ensure all raw materials and finished goods have up to date Safety Data Sheets and update electronic SDS records as needed.
- Communicate with Production the identified proper PPE, handling procedures, and storage requirements
- Perform additional duties as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise the quality team in Las Vegas
- Ensure good performance by quality assurance techs by mentoring, training, setting expectations, providing accountability, and performing evaluations
- Participate in hiring activity as needed
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors Degree of Science or Chemistry is required
- At least 5 years of work experience in a quality control position and at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience with hands-on adhesive product development experience; and familiarity with polyurethane, polyurea, acrylic, vinyl ester chemistries highly preferred.
- Knowledge of adhesive markets (DOT, construction, caulks/sealants, etc) and compounding preferred.
- Skilled and experienced in addressing multiple priorities/projects with minimum direction while prioritizing and maintaining focus.
- Recognized as a valued resource for product recommendations, trials application support, quality improvements and problem solving.
- Recognized for creativity and innovation skills; demonstrated ability to meet development objectives; results driven.
- Ability to employ analytical trouble shooting tools in problem resolution and process optimization.
- Energetic; demonstrated initiative and drive.
- Structured, organized and focused; self-disciplined; minimal supervision required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively within the organization.
- Exceptional communication skills both internally and externally.
- Experience leading UL and ISO audits and certifications.
- Knowledge and experience with Stage Gate process and DOE methodologies preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Outlook.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Pay: This position has a base salary range of $75,000 - $80,000. The salary range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
Bonus Pay: Meridian offers a performance-based incentive plan tied to company success. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn a percentage of their salary, with bonus payments distributed yearly.
