JOB SUMMARY:
This role is the owner of the SIOP or S&OP process for multiple Meridian business units. This includes ownership of the monthly meetings, accurate data for both demand and supply reviews, and inventory management focused around maintaining the correct inventory levels and eliminating excess and obsolete inventory. This position is responsible for planning and execution decisions from 18 months out to week zero.
Demand Management: This role is responsible for ensuring that the demand fits the supply capability. If out of balance, they are responsible for working with all parties to come up with the best network plan given available information to meet customer and shareholder expectations. This position is not responsible for the Demand Forecast, but will provide guidance and feedback on quality and requirements.
Supply Management: This role is responsible for ensuring the demand coming into the system is balanced prior to being scheduled. They also ensure that the entire network is optimized, and Meridian provides its customers with the best service level and shareholders the best return. While not responsible for the actual daily scheduling of orders, this position will provide guidance and oversight of plant scheduling to ensure compliance and optimal network performance.
ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES:
Sales & Operation Planning
- Management of a rolling 18 month plan that balances value stream demand, with stocking point inventory and supply network capacity
- Disaggregate demand and map to planned requirements and develop rough cut capacity plan (RCCP)
- Develop an initial inventory plan
- Prepare materials for the Supply Planning Meeting and Pre-Exec S&OP Meeting
- Assist in preparation of Exec S&OP Meeting materials
- Perform “What If” scenarios to handle strategic questions or emergency situations.
Master Network Planning
- Management of a rolling 8-12 weeks weekly plan that balances network demand, inventory and supply capacity
- Manage hard demand requirements coming to the network and balance them against available capacity
- Manage exceptions in demand and capacity imbalance and optimize the plan to support as needed
- Work with Sales, customer service, operations, procurement and operations to manage supply disruption and optimization efforts
- Work with procurement to establish raw material inventory targets and adjust raw material inventory based on demand forecast
- Coach schedulers on proper schedule management and ensure adherence to the supply plan
Supply Network and Distribution Strategy
- Utilizing knowledge and information from the Master Plan and S&OP, support occasional strategic supply development requests (M&A, footprint analysis, etc.)
- Perform AdHoc analysis to inform distribution network alignment with customers and suppliers to improve performance and/or reduce cost
Inventory Management
- Accountable for development and management of Engineered inventory levels across the supply network
- Provide inventory targets and guidelines through the S&OP and Master Planning processes
- Understand and be able to explain inventory shifts in addition to performing root cause analysis on unexpected variances
Process and Systems
- Provide expertise and feedback to support system improvements
- Responsible for validation of planning assumptions

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant operational experience in either manufacturing or logistics or planning
- 5 years of experience in supply chain management
- Proficiency in SKUScience, ProssPro, or Sage (Supply and Manufacturing) a plus
- Manufacturing or chemicals industry experience preferred
- Fluent English required
