Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various construction projects, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely. This position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and a willingness to learn and adapt to different construction tasks.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and clean-up of job sites before, during, and after construction activities.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to support various construction tasks.
- Collaborate with skilled tradespeople in areas such as framing, plumbing, and electric.
- Assist with cabinet installation and other carpentry-related tasks.
- Help fabricate materials as required for specific projects.
- Apply plaster and caulking to surfaces as needed for finishing work.
- Problem solve to work around obstacles to complete tasks
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times.
- Installations of various home hardware i.e. cabinet hardware, towel bars, vanities, door locksets
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Strong ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to read a tape measure accurately and to 1/16”
- Ability to identify tools and materials (i.e., know what a circular saw is, know what a 2x4 is, know what a sheet of plywood is…)
- Basic knowledge of framing and drywall work a plus.
- Experience using power, battery or pneumatic tools a plus.
- Experience with basic electrical work or cabinet installation is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while following instructions from supervisors.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on various responsibilities within the construction field.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
