What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at Meriplex Communications?
Key Responsibilities / Duties (Tax) :
- Lead preparation and compliance for all taxes, including : sales and use, property taxes, state and income tax, among others.
- Coordinate with external advisors and other team members to ensure compliance is prepared timely and adequately.
- Manage and review the consolidated tax provisions under ASC 740, including the effective tax rate, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, and tax footnotes.
- Comply with all telecommunications regulatory filings.
- Manage cash taxes and provide forecast to the FP&A team.
- Responsible for monitoring and responding to tax questions, notices, etc.
- Be updated on new legislation, tax matters, rate changes, etc.
- Act as Administrator for Avalara system
- Work with the billing team to ensure taxes and fees are properly reflected in the invoices.
- Advise business leaders on strategic tax matters and implement proactive tax planning measures
- Prepare and review tax account reconciliation.
- Lead the overall Direct Tax function.
- Identify and support the implementation of process improvements.
- Lead all aspects associated with insurance policies and renewal.
- Assist with other projects as necessary.
