What Your Day Will Look Like
The Manager works with the consulting team to provide high-level service to clients through accurate data analysis and industry-leading results throughout the property tax cycle. They have a keen eye on details and an intuition to see things others don’t. In general, you can expect to:
- Perform detail reviews of asset data and supporting documentation for determining proper valuations for purposes of quantifying tax assessments
- Review and manage client contract terms, scope of services and fees. Oversee client billing and ensures timely collection of receivables
- Manipulate and analyze raw data from various accounting and reporting systems
- Proactively secure tax abatements and exemptions
- Address complexities and issues that arise from client operations
- Manage the preparation, review and processing of tax documents for clients
- Maintain direct contact with clients and various appraisal districts
- Continuously develop tax expertise, analytical capabilities, and soft skills
- Keep high standards of accuracy and organization
- Enjoy meeting deadlines and feeling a sense of accomplishment
- Negotiate with confidence
- Think critically and recognize when something is off
- Communicate difficult and complicated topics with ease and simplicity
- Understand approaches to valuation of property
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Build strong internal and external working relationships
- Manage your time well and prioritize tasks effectively
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering or similar field
- Four to six years of experience in a consulting firm (Big Four is a plus!)
- Strong Excel skills (bonus points if you know keyboard shortcuts)
- TDLR License or other certification/designation (e.g. CMI)
- Experience in the energy industry is preferred
