Objectives:
- Process error free customer purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Achieve departmental goal by meeting or exceeding the order processing on time objective
- Achieve individual productivity goals (errors/month, orders/lines entry/hour)
- Complete cross-training to accurately and effectively perform all sales support functions
- Uphold the Merit Brass corporate mission statement, acting with a sense of urgency and upholding the core values as published
- Maintain a professional, ethical and respectful attitude while exercising teamwork
- Ensure that customer orders are entered within the 4-hour entry goal
- Receives and processes MBWebXpress orders
- Completes customer purchase order process (including indents and flatbeds)
- Works closely with the credit department, purchasing, and the Shipping Liaison to ensure prompt processing of customer purchase orders
- Participate in monthly sales support error review meetings to seek out root causes and their resolution
- Support the inside sales team through the entry of large customer quotations
- Input customer indent orders into the order processing & purchasing systems, as requested
- Assists in completing tasks/workload for sales support (e.g. MTRs, expediting, returns/non-conformances, etc.) and other departments
- Participate in Merit’s training program designed to enhance associate skills and achieve the hours per year goal
- Advocates the spirit of teamwork and personal accountability in the performance of other duties and responsibilities as requested by department supervisor
- Willingness and ability to work overtime when asked by a manager or supervisor
- High school graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years relevant Order Processing experience
- Ability to speak clearly and communicate in a writing style that is grammatically correct
- Ability to learn, retain and utilize extensive part number matrix
- Ability to quickly learn and operate computer software systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and manage workflow
- Accurate, focused and detail oriented
- Highly proficient in Excel, Word & Microsoft Outlook
- Dependable work habits, including punctuality, attendance and work ethic
- Self-motivatedand ableto perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload
- Capable of managing a multi-task environment with deadlines & other requirements
- Ability to work effectively with customers and co-workers
- Willing and able to continuously improve yourself, others, and the operations in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Capacity to work in a total quality management environment with continuous process improvement
- Perform other duties that may be assigned to support overall Merit Brass operation
