What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fulfillment Manager position at Merit Manufacturing?
Fulfillment Manager
Who We’re Looking For
At Merit Manufacturing, we don’t just fulfill orders—we deliver excellence! We’re looking for a Fulfillment Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can juggle multiple priorities, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed. If you love keeping operations running smoothly, managing a dynamic team, and making sure customers get exactly what they need (on time, every time), this role is for you!
Your Main Responsibilities
- Leading a fulfillment team that flexes between 20-40 employees throughout the year. (Think of it as your own well-oiled machine!)
- Managing a group of supervisors who oversee inventory counts, warehouse operations, picking & packing, and all those little details that make fulfillment magic happen.
- Working directly with customers on issues, product launches, processes, special requests, and inventory counts—because great service is at the heart of what we do.
- Keeping a close eye on department expenses, including payroll and supplies—because budgets matter.
- Understanding the P&L so you can ensure the profitability of the fulfillment department. (If you know your way around a spreadsheet, even better!)
- Communicating clearly and effectively—whether it’s with your team, leadership, or customers.
Are you Qualified?
- A strong leader who knows how to motivate a team and get things done.
- A fast learner who can adapt to changing needs and isn’t afraid to jump in and help.
- Someone with basic P&L knowledge to help keep our department in the black.
- A problem-solver who can handle customer requests, process improvements, and daily challenges with ease.
- An excellent communicator—whether it’s explaining a new process to the team or working through a customer concern.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years experience in operations management, preferably in a fas-paced or high growth environment.
Experience in shipping, logistics, or a fulfillment center is not required but and understanding of these basics is highly encouraged.
Experience in scaling operations and managing cross-functional teams.
