What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Compliance Inspector position at Merit Professional?
Merit Professional Services is looking to hire an Environmental Compliance Inspector for our inspection route located in Northeast and Central DFW.
About the Job :
Our Environmental Compliance Inspectors enjoy flexible hours and a dynamic work environment. As an Environmental Compliance Inspector, you will be assigned 10 to 15 construction projects to visit per day. While on site, you will observe stormwater pollution prevention controls and verify that they are in good condition and that they are working properly. Your observations will be compiled into a report that is sent to the on site construction manager / superintendent. It is also the inspector's responsibility to update and maintain the project's Stormwater Prevention Pollution Plan (SWPPP).
You will communicate directly with construction project managers on what actions they need to take in order to maintain compliance with local, TCEQ, and EPA regulations.
Requirements :
- An environmental degree or experience in Stormwater Inspecting / Consulting is preferred but not required.
- Construction experience is helpful but not required.
- You must be comfortable driving several hours each day as well working in the elements.
- You must have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable interacting in person with each project's onsite client representative.
- Computer literacy, fast typing, and the ability to navigate and use the Microsoft Office Suite are required.
- Must possess a clean driving record and must be able to pass a preemployment background check and drug test.
- This is not a remote position!
Benefits :
Compensation : $36,000 - $38,000 annually.
