Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee with Signing Bonus
Office Site: Sunnyside
We are offering a signing bonus ! SUDP = #3,000.00 SUDP(t) = $1,500.00
Work Schedule: Flexible 40-hour work week. Schedules include Four 10-hour days, or Five 8-hour days. Weekends and holidays off.
Job Description: Merit is seeking a SUDP/T that has the ability and skills to work with patients and their families to develop a positive therapeutic relationship in an environment that supports recovery, personal growth, and autonomy. Our mission is to provide a path to recovery for all. SUDP/T’s will conduct diagnostic DSM IV Assessments for SUD, provide group counseling and education, individual and family counseling, case management services, and work with patients and their families to formulate and achieve individualized goals. SUDP/T’s are responsible for ensuring compliance with all State and Agency requirements.
Requirements:
➢ WA State DOH Certification as a Substance Use Disorder Professional or Trainee
➢ AA Degree or SUDPT enrolled in College with a High School Diploma or GED
➢ Valid WA State Drivers License and carry verified auto insurance
➢ Ability to pass a Pre-employment Drug Screen
➢ Approval/passing WA State Patrol background check and reference check
➢ Ability to travel, as needed to other office sites for meetings, trainings and staff coverage
➢ Ability to work evenings and schedule flexibility to meet the patient and agency needs
➢ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software
➢ Knowledge, understand, and desire to work with patients with substance use disorders within a 12-step based recovery treatment model
Skills:
➢ Working knowledge and understanding of ASAM criteria and DSM IV criteria
➢ Ability to utilize a variety of therapeutic styles and interventions
➢ Knowledge, understanding and respect of culture as a significant force in shaping patient’s behaviors, beliefs, and values
➢ Strong communication skills that allow the employee to communicate effectively with patients, families, referents, community, coworkers, and other providers
➢ Strong documentation and case management skills
➢ Knowledge of community resources
➢ Fluent Spanish speaking skills are preferred but not required.
