What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Owner position at Meritore Technologies?
***This is a W2 position only***
Based in Miramar, FL and reporting to the Product Manager, the IT Product Owner assists with the development of products from start to finish to ensure they meet the clients’ needs and preferences. Their main duties include supporting the overall vision of products, working various backlog items, and participating in the decisions of which features the product will have according to clients’ preferences. S\He will research and determine the clients’ needs to determine which features to include on products and will pitch ideas for product features to stakeholders. The IT Product Owner will then continue to act as the primary contact between cross functional teams, the vendor development departments and stakeholders. S\He will have various technical tasks like the installation of vendor provide software, upload application content via GUI or DBU, configure OS Settings to appropriate specification. The IT Product Owner will coordinate with Cyber Security to ensure protocols are adhered to. S\He will be working with product and project teams simultaneously and learn to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment across disparate teams.
Required Skills
• In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
• Working knowledge of product development architecture (SDLC)
• Proficiency in the use of analytic tools
• Ability to prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of user-centered design principles
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Ability to work with technical and operational teams.
• Understanding of design quality standards
• Strong Presentation Skills
• Experience with client-server, web-base, cloud models
• Knowledge of relational database concepts/ principles
• Basic understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, xml
• Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems
Required Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related
Required Years of Experience 1-3 years in relevant field
Desired Skills • Proven ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results in a team, plus the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact with engineers from all departments.
• Ability to think strategically and drive ideas into action, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal initiative
Desired Education
• Certification in Scrum & Agile Software development Methodology
• Internship in a similar role in a medium size organization
