Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the stable operation of a secure and highly available infrastructure including network, servers and cloud resources. The roles and day-to-day tasks of the position include monitoring performance and reliability of the operating environment, responding to incidents, maintaining backups and being a support arm of the entire IT Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director of IT – Infrastructure:
- Maintains, monitors and supports all infrastructure in the datacenter as well as remote branches
- Support a Windows and Linux Servers on a hypervisor platform. Including: Implementation, administration, backups, testing, troubleshooting, and patching
- Understand and be proficient in routing protocols and advanced network configurations
- Administer SD-WAN appliances to maintain the highest levels of service
- Configure SAN appliances using industry standard best practices
- Assist with developing and maintaining system design documentation for yearly audits
- Lead and participate in Credit Union projects and initiatives in a collaborative manner
- Maintain and support a virtual apps and desktops in a Citrix environment
- Handle escalations from any IT group with advanced troubleshooting techniques
- Collaborate with the Security team keeping mindfulness in security at the forefront when considering changes to the environment
- Administer and configure the following: firewalls, security appliances, MDM, proxies and other Credit Union specific software
- Responsible for applying security fixes as directed by the Security team.
- Provide after-hours network support during downtime, upgrades and other off-hours projects
- Identify opportunities to improve user satisfaction
- Train members of IT Department in aspects of operating hardware or systems
- Contact vendors to arrange for upgrades, updates, patches, and replacements on software and hardware
- Travel to and from branch locations in performance of duties
- Preserves confidentiality of Credit Union data and records
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating an enterprise network as a network or systems administrator
- Experience with VMware vCenter, Cisco Networking and Security products, as well as Citrix XenApp/Desktop preferred
- Current holder of or willing to obtain industry recognized certifications, such as Network , CCNA or VCA.
- Highly proficient with Windows desktop and server administration
- Experience with Microsoft administration tools such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT), Terminal Services, and Windows Server update Services (WSUS)
- Basic Linux knowledge and understanding
- Have an understanding of and can troubleshoot advanced networking designs
- Working technical knowledge of networking principles, protocols, hardware, and standards
- Familiarity with virtual technology in a SAN environment
- Associates degree in an IT field and/or certifications preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
Salary : $58,601 - $87,902
