What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Clinical Faculty - Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine position at Meritus Health?
In conjunction with the Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, Curriculum and Assessment and the Chair of Primary Care, clinical faculty for the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine will work with other administrative faculty and staff. Reporting directly to Chair of Primary Care to work with the curriculum as well as coordinate with other Clinical Education faculty for any didactic components of pre-clinical and clinical education that occur in the overall curriculum. The faculty will be responsible for pre-clinical clinical education and is responsible for teaching the clinical skills per course to the students. $100 per hour
Education – D.O./M.D. degree preferred with a history in academic medicine teaching and assessment. A Ph.D. with an academic background in medical education from an accredited institution may be considered, if the experience includes equivalent education leadership skills in medical education
Experience – A physician with successful completion of an approved faculty development or other graduate program in education management preferred. Experience in an osteopathic medical school and successful administrative experience at the Discipline or Department level in higher education.
Licensure/Certification – If a physician, State Licensure required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities –
- Knowledge of pre-clinical education concepts necessary to ensure a proper understanding for students
- Knowledge of osteopathic principles and practices
- Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols, at the practice level.
- Knowledge of patients' (HIPAA) and students' (FERPA) privacy
- Follow proper OSHA and safety guidelines
- Knowledge of protective equipment (office, facility, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy are essential as well as computer literacy (MS Office Suit [i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel]) and accurate data entry skills
- Maintaining an established work schedule
- Effectively using organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and follow-through
- Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands
- Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
