What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brook Lane Residential Activity Specialist position at Meritus Health?
Develop and implement engaging age appropriate activities which will help residents meet residential goals. Activities should improve mental, physical, social and cognitive wellbeing. Function as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team to meet the activity needs for inpatients. Position is responsible both for the planning and implementation of therapeutic activities.
Education – Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy or related field preferred
Experience – Minimum of 1 year experience working with recreational activity planning/implementation in healthcare setting
Licensure/Certification – N/A
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Must be organized and able to manage behaviors in a group setting. Ability to work with all ages. Effective communication skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instruction given. Basic computer skills
