What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director | Electronic Health Records position at Meritus Health?
This position is responsible for the ongoing management of the electronic medical record system. Specifically, the director will work hand-in-hand with internal partners in hospital and ambulatory clinical services, accountable care organization, financial operations, patient financial services, quality, physician management, and supply chain management to continually improving patient services. The Director will oversee a team of application analysts both internally and through outside contractors. The Director will maintain a backlog of feature requests and ensure their team completes EHR projects in collaboration with their IT peers. The position’s success is exhibited through the development of proactive and insightful strategies enhancing both the patient experience and operating performance. They will plan and provide coaching, guidance, and support to assist high caliber technical employees to reach their full potential.
Education - BS degree in Information Technology, Finance, Public Health Policy, Economic or related field is required. Master's in business administration, Health Policy or related field is preferred with experience in a consulting or multiple-hospital and centralized back-office environment.
Experience - Eight to ten years of health care industry experience with HSCRC technical expertise and proactive management style.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Proficient in PC software applications in Microsoft Windows work environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint application skills. Must have strong mathematical and analytical skills. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Exercise good common sense and make sound judgment. Good interpersonal and oral/written and communication skills. Must have strong customer service skills. Able to handle a multi-task environment.
