What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy Technician position at Meritus Health?
Under the general supervision of the endoscopy sedation nurse and the direct supervision of the physician during the procedure, is involved in the preparation of the endoscopy room and physician assisting role during an endoscopy procedure. Functions as a member of the endoscopy team. Also assists with ASU clinic responsibilities as necessary; such as scheduling, checking patients in, setting up or retrieving supplies, performing clerical duties and assisting physicians with clinic procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience - Three years ambulatory surgery or endoscopy experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification - Documentation of successful completion of Endoscopy Technician Certification Program preferred. Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Maryland preferred. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
