What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Meritus Health?
Under the supervision of the Facilities Engineering Manager, performs duties associated with the inspection, repair, maintenance and preventative maintenance of facilities electromechanical / mechanical equipment, plant utilities systems, and physical structures. Works on complex problems which may involve the modification and partial redesign of a piece of equipment or system. Records, plans and prepares daily work assignments, maintains an adequate schedule for PM of equipment, systems, and procedures in compliance with applicable codes.
Education – High school diploma or equivalent, Trade / Vocational School courses in various skills preferred.
Experience – Minimum of six (6) years of experience with extensive exposure to installation, repair and maintenance of building and electromechanical systems.
Licensure/Certification – Must be able to pass FIT Certification within probation period for use of Meritus Vehicles: Valid Driver’s License, A driving record as required by law for vehicle expected to operate. No record of moving violations in the past three years is preferred. Certified copy of driving record is required to be provided by team member annually on date of birth. Acknowledgement with signature to “Attestation A” of Meritus Vehicle Management Use and Control policy. For use of Personal Vehicles: Access to a vehicle and current driver’s license from any state is required. Acknowledgement with signature to “Attestation A” of Meritus Vehicle Management Use and Control policy, which includes guidelines for personal insurance coverage requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – The ability to read repair manuals and schematic diagrams.
