What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Safety Accreditation Coordinator position at Meritus Health?
Serves as a content expert to coordinate and provide oversight for quality, patient safety, and accreditation activities/functions. This includes validating the accuracy of quality data, driving quality improvement, and reporting data externally to regulatory agencies. This role is also responsible for daily review of event reports and facilitation of follow up actions and preventative measures in order to reduce and prevent harm events. The role ensures regulatory compliance with federal and state agencies.
Education –Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field or equivalent experience required.
Experience – Minimum of five (5) years of experience in nursing, care management, utilization review, or quality resource experience in an acute care setting. Previous experience in quality, accreditation, patient safety or similar experience required.
Licensure/Certification –License required as applicable to background and clinical area of expertise. Certification not required but certification in Quality Improvement or LEAN/Six Sigma preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills. Detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills. Effective communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to exchange information and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals. Ability to complete projects timely and accurately is critical. Experience with computerized data entry, spreadsheets and key tools and systems such as Excel, Power Point and Word. Proficient in navigating clinical software to abstract an analyze information. Must be able to work independently and exhibit flexibility. Ability to respond to ever-changing needs and situations. Utilization of Lean methodology to support efforts in optimizing value and service.
