Radiology Tech - Cardiac Cath Lab
Full Time - 7:00AM-5:30PM
$20k Sign on bonus
Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, performs activities and related services to provide safe and therapeutic care for the patient undergoing cardiovascular procedures. Provides surgical scrub assistance to the physicians for radiographic procedures in the cath lab setting. Serves as a resource to other staff members. Operates radiographic equipment within scope and guidelines of license or credential, prepares procedure room and prepares contrast media. Observes patients and equipment during procedures and records pertinent patient information. Demonstrates intra-procedural clinical competency in technical, diagnostic or therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures. Licensed Radiographer only - responsible for quality control and maintenance of department aprons and radiology equipment used. Stocks all supplies as necessary. Assists the RN with direct patient care. Must be able to take call with a 30-minute response time. May have individual responsibility for specified procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education - Completion of degree or program as applicable to specific license or credential required.
- Experience - Previous experience with Cardiovascular procedures in a Cath Lab setting is strongly preferred, clinical experience with Interventional Radiology procedures will also be considered.
- Licensure/Certification - Current registration as an American Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) AND current Licensure by State of Maryland as a Radiographer - OR - current credential as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required. Current BLS (CPR) and ACLS in compliance with policy required. ARRT Cardiovascular (RT/CV) is preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Optional MMC IV course available.
