Registered Nurse- Employee Health
The Employee Health Nurse is responsible for performing general nursing duties. Conducts/assists with pre-employment and fitness-for-duty examinations. Collaborates with other clinical team members to achieve optimal clinical outcomes and meet department/health system safety, quality, and financial goals. Advises employees on work related health matters. Serves on committees as assigned. Monitors return to work documentation when an employee has been absent for a prolonged illness, injury and/or infection. Resolves discrepancies between physician and employee regarding return to work orders. Demonstrates accountability for maintaining and tracking immunization and vaccination records.
Schedule:
Wednesdays 730am - 4pm, additional hours As Needed.
Education – An Associate’s Degree in Nursing is Required. A BSN and additional education in Occupational Health is preferred.
Experience – Must have a minimum of three years as an RN in an ambulatory setting. Experience in an Occupational Health/Employee Health, clinic or emergency department setting is preferred.
Licensure/Certification – Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if resident of a state that participates in Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds Registered Nurse license from that state that is designated as “Compact” or “Multi-State Privilege” using primary source verification and provides additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing. RN license from a compact state with a designation of “Single State” does not meet the requirement and nurse must obtain a Maryland license. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice with compassion and empathy. Basic computer skills required. Must possess high level of organizational and communication skills.
