What are the responsibilities and job description for the Simulation Specialist - Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine position at Meritus Health?
The Simulation Specialist works with faculty educators to assist with the implementation of simulation activities in the training of healthcare professionals. This includes the maintenance of simulation infrastructure and instructional technologies that support the simulated learning environment and enables student learning through simulation-based activities. The Simulation Specialist will assist with preparation, operation, and the maintenance of simulation equipment in collaboration with instructional faculty and will provide technical assistance in all aspects of operationalizing a simulation education event.
Education – HS Diploma Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Experience – Previous experience working in a medical simulation center, especially with medical education
Licensure/Certification – Preferred: Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist-Advanced (CHSOS-A) certification. The CHSE or CHSE-A would be acceptable alternatives.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Strong organizational skills, creativity, computer proficiency, excellent communication skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting technical and equipment failures.
