EpicCare Ambulatory/Healthy Planet:
Under the direction of the Epic Ambulatory Manager, the Clinical Systems Analyst- EpicCare Ambulatory will be responsible for developing Epic and related applications.
- Will play an integral role in the build component of EpicCare Ambulatory. *Build experience with EpicCare Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, OTX strongly preferred.
- Will develop, implement, project manage and provide ongoing support of clinical information systems through projects and daily operational requests.
- Will proactively increase knowledge of Epic EHR software, acquire knowledge of the health system operations in various outpatient areas to develop solutions to support business needs of the organization. Will develop workflows within the EHR including Smart Tools, Documentation Tools, OTX, Health Maintenance, Registries, etc. documentation and train staff on Epic application functionality.
- Will analyze procedures and problems, report findings and make recommendations for resolutions.
- Responsible for formulating objectives to meet system scope requirements.
- Will interact with clients and build problem solving partnerships with clinical and business providers, customers and colleagues, while working independently building system components, testing, documenting, and ensuring 24/7 system support and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education - Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare, information systems, information technology or related field required or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience -
- Five years of progressive healthcare experience required.
- Build experience with EpicCare Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, or OTX preferred.
- Prefer experience in a hospital or major medical center clinical setting that includes IT system deployment as clinical, business, or system analyst with multiple technology implementations preferred.
- Familiarity with clinical hospital software and/or hardware technology, database, query languages, including ability to design, configure, train, or implement clinical systems.
- Knowledge of processes and workflows common in physician office practices across varied specialties combined with advanced computer and database skills.
- IT or clinical experience and comprehensive knowledge of outpatient or other healthcare operational experience and knowledge of a variety of ambulatory practice models and EMR system implementations.
- Knowledge of ambulatory physician and back-office nursing, ordering, and specialty department clinical documentation workflows, care planning, and patient education using Epic Ambulatory Clinical application desired.
- Healthcare support experience is desired in areas such as billing, scheduling, access services, and health maintenance. Knowledge in SAS or other statistical software packages is highly desirable.
- Hands on Epic clinical systems experience required. Prefer prior experience working on project team, clinical systems support, and general knowledge of healthcare information issues.
Licensure/Certification -
- Current EpicCare Ambulatory Epic certification required
- Current Healthy Planet certification preferred
- OR MUST ATTEND multiweek Epic training program and obtain Healthy Planet and associated certification within allotted time.
- All certifications must be completed within the first twelve months of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities -
- Knowledge of current business practices and computing systems, interfaces and hospital and medical group practice standard software including computer systems and methods utilized in structuring and preparing input data for computer applications.
- Familiar with HIPAA, TJC, and other regulations that impact hospitals and clinics, along with awareness and familiarity with Meaningful Use and quality requirements.
- An ability to translate information into computer system specifications, design program logic for computer applications.
- Knowledge of a variety of hardware and software environments and of the healthcare industry and Epic healthcare applications required. Analytical skills necessary to apply computer technology to resolve clinical problems and/or increase operational efficiency of data processing systems.
- Ability to analyze the functionality of systems and their fit with specifications. Understands relationships between system processes/programs, system parameters, files and data relationships for assigned products. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical documentation and orders databases, data conversion models, workflows, master files, category lists, synonyms and preference lists.
- Ability to research, analyze and thoroughly understand workflows of end users, using this knowledge to configure systems which improve processes, add efficiencies and promote patient safety.
- Ability to use standard flowcharting tools and techniques to create and maintain business process and functional flow charts. Is able to read and edit technical flow charts.
- Proficient knowledge of web-based technologies, processes, and analytics. Familiar with program development tools such as editors and configuration tools. Basic knowledge of standardized quality improvement methodologies. Ability to respond to changing demands, priorities, procedures and technology. Able to lead groups to make key decisions. Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists and help manage a project plan. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with user departments in ascertaining and converting needs for application to electronic data processing systems. Ability to express needs clearly, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Self-directed in identifying changing demands and priorities. Acts as a change agent in adjusting to new procedures and technology. Dedication to detail with proven organizational skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and users. Project management and planning expertise. Ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines; ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions.
Salary range: $82,000 to $123,000 (*offers based on experience required for position)
