Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Cash Managment in Business Services at Meriwest is responsible for overseeing and managing the business treasury functions, including cash management, liquidity, and financial risk management. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to optimize the credit union’s financial performance and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the AVP is tasked with bringing in new business, working with branches to develop and expand the network, and enhancing the branches’ level of knowledge in treasury management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities:
- Review current offerings and make suggestions to enhance products or implement changes.
- Manage the overall day to day operations.
- Oversee daily treasury operations, including cash flow management, liquidity planning, and investment strategies to ensure optimal financial performance.
- Develop and implement cash management solutions to enhance liquidity and reduce financial risks.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to make informed investment decisions.
- Obtain new business treasury management leads and own the entire treasury management process from lead generation to implementation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business members, providing tailored financial solutions and exceptional service to meet their treasury needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business members, offering insights and recommendations to help them achieve their financial goals.
- Organize and participate in networking events to expand the credit union’s business member base.
- Lead and mentor a team of treasury professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team members’ skills and knowledge.
- Set clear performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team effectiveness.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for treasury management to support the credit union’s growth and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to align treasury strategies with overall business goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and profitability.
- Ensure all treasury activities comply with federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Work with Business Service Relationship Managers, Business Development, internal teams, including the branch network, and other teams to expand our footprint.
- Work closely with branches to develop and expand the network.
- Enhance the branches’ level of knowledge in treasury management through training and support.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum five to seven years' experience in treasury management or a related financial services role.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a credit union or similar financial institution, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, Required
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field, or professional certifications such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with business members and internal stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with business members and team members.
- Ability to analyze complex financial situations and develop effective solutions.
- The ability to motivate or influence inside or outside senior level personnel is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequent material
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills to assess financial data and make informed decisions.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial transactions and documentation.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including treasury management systems.

The AVP, Cash Management position is a Grade 13.
- Target Range: $110,293.84 to $137,867.30*
*The target range for entry in a new position is between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on experience and qualifications.
