What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Steward-Dishwasher position at Meriwether Godsey, Inc.?
Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at a retail dining operation in Richmond, VA.
- Must be able to work as follows: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm
- Pay rate: $16.00 Per Hour
What you will do:
- Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
- Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
- Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
- Load and unload food and supplies to and from the van for deliveries and pick-ups
- Drive safely while obeying all state and local laws in Virginia
- Clean dining and serving areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption
- Setup and use three - a compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping mopping floors, and removal of trash
- Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
- Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices
- Other duties, as assigned
What you need:
- Previous utility/dishwasher experience required
- Ability to measure products and convert units of measure
- Awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning
- Reliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environment
- Good communication skills and a great attitude
