Nursing Assistant (Aide)

We are a small facility. The average ratio for aide to residents is 1:15

Qualifications:

• Personality attuned to the requirements of meeting needs of the infirm and aged
• Demonstrates competency in skills and technical necessary to care for residents’ needs as identified through Resident Assessment and described in the Plan of Care

Responsibilities:

• Working under general direction and supervision of charge nurse
• Handling and serving residents to ensure safety and comfort
• Observing instructions of nursing staff and performing in line with established routine
• Poriving maximum resident care services to ensure well being of resident to greatest degree
• Carrying out duties and responsibilities in conformance with established routine
• All other duties as directed by supervising staff

Work Performed:

Under supervision to perform duties ensuring maximum care, security, and treatment,

• Assist with carrying out resident assessment and plan of care
• Assuring physical comfort and mental well-being of resident
• Assist in customary daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment such as bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, care of hair, nails, moving residents from area to area, responding to calls, etc.
• Detecting and correcting situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to resident
• Observing and reporting symptoms, reaction, and changes
• Encouraging and participating in rehabilitative measures

Job knowledge:

• Knowledge of procedures and techniques
• Providing bedside services
• Familiarity with functions of various departments
• Understanding of standard techniques in personal service care of residents
• Care of equipment and supplies
• Awareness of sterile procedures and avoidance of contamination

• Work under closer supervision with awareness that error may have serious consequences

• Use of initiative and judgment
• Warm, outgoing personality and positive response to all residents
