What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Technician position at Mermaid Vet Hospital LLC?
Hey there, you brilliant (or aspiring) Veterinary Assistant or non-credentialed Technician!
Yes, you. We know you’re tired of the same-old-same-old, where you're technically trained at work but don’t really get to stretch those skilled learning muscles of yours. We believe in something different – a world where you're actually educated to gain all that knowledge and expertise you're working so hard for. Crazy, right?
At Mermaid Vet Hospital, we’re looking for someone who’s ready to rock their role in a semi-autonomous environment, where you'll not only practice kick-ass veterinary medicine, but also help build a positive, supportive, and downright fun place to work. After all, the only drama we need around here is deciding whether to order Thai or tacos for lunch.
We want someone who:
- Wants to actually learn, from anesthesia monitoring and dental cleanings to radiology and patient care. You won’t be a glorified restrainer or "extra set of hands", here (unless maybe, if a client is getting too rowdy).
- Knows how to roll up their sleeves, take initiative, and work like a pro (but isn’t afraid to ask for help when needed).
- Can handle the occasional chaos with a laugh and a sense of humor. Extra points if your joke repertoire rivals your knowledge of canine anatomy.
- Loves pets, obviously. But also knows how to make clients feel like they’re part of the family (without making it weird).
What we offer:
- A team that will actually appreciate your skills and help you grow them.
- Competitive pay.
- A supportive environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and the occasional bit of gallows humor to get us through the day.
- Opportunities to keep learning and developing in your field without having to elbow through red tape to do it.
If you’re ready to step into a role where you’re empowered to be the badass vet team member you are, we want to hear from you. Let’s do great things together – and have a laugh while we’re at it.
Apply today, and let’s make veterinary medicine fun again.
