The Director of Foster Care provides leadership and oversight of the Foster Care program, ensuring high-quality services, compliance with state mandates, and effective program administration across the designated territory.
Requirements:
- MSW or related Master’s degree required.
- 5-7 years of experience in child welfare, foster care, or related fields.
- 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience, preferably in leadership roles.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; 50% travel required in Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer counties.
- Rotating on-call duties (one 7-day period every 8-10 weeks).
Responsibilities:
- Ensure children and families receive services aligned with treatment goals and regulations.
- Supervise staff, including training, evaluations, scheduling, and personnel decisions.
- Lead program development, marketing, and community representation efforts.
- Monitor performance, enforce compliance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Provide on-call administrative oversight as required.
- Manage and mitigate risks to ensure a safe environment.
