Who We Are
CardWorks, Inc. is a diversified consumer finance service provider and parent company of CardWorks Servicing, LLC, Merrick Bank and Carson Smithfield, LLC.
CardWorks Servicing, LLC provides end-to end operational servicing functions for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans. We service consumer and small business loans across the credit spectrum and offers backup servicing and due diligence services to capital providers and trustees.
Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank. Merrick operates three main business lines: credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services.
Carson Smithfield, LLC provides a variety of post-charge-off debt recovery services, including digital self-service, IVR, live agent, and external agency management.
The Sr. Analyst, Credit Risk Management position shall primarily develop and manage analytical processes for new account and/or account management credit policies and strategies. This includes analyzing acquisition performance data and managing internal reporting and controls. This position requires knowledge of credit risk management techniques using analytical software such as SAS, SQL, Python and related data analysis tools.
Essential Functions:
· Manage the development and maintenance of internal datasets and reporting.
· Manage system testing, control testing, and monitoring processes.
· Oversee analytic support for new account acquisition campaigns, risk/profitability segmentation, and responder performance.
· Manage strategy and implementation/audit documentation with other departments and with outside vendors.
· Create automated controls using SAS to identify process breakdowns.
· Identify and implement solutions for new products, process efficiencies, and issues.
· Assist in keeping risk and control libraries up to date.
· Ensure exception report outputs are handled appropriately.
· Mentor junior employees in programming/best practices.
Compliance with Laws & Regulations:
· Responsible for complying with all the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
· Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
· Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree or four years of experience in credit risk management is required.
· Five years of credit risk analysis is required and five years of banking / credit card or consumer credit portfolio management experience is preferred.
· Five years of experience with SAS & SQL is required and some experience with R & Python is preferred.
Summary of Qualifications:
Technical
· Experience in data analysis, reporting and auditing experience in the banking or credit card industry is required.
· Experience in system testing with an emphasis on regulatory, policy, and/or procedural compliance testing is required.
· Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
· Experience with SAS, SQL, and managing large datasets is required.
· Excellent problem-solving ability, communication, high attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to work independently.
· Familiarity with statistical/quantitative analysis is preferred.
· Experience with Linux/Bash is preferred.
Industry
· Experience in credit risk management is required.
· Experience with credit bureau data and systems is required.
· Previous banking, underwriting, or lending experience required.
· Experience with regulatory compliance / internal audit standards preferred
