What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nutrition Head Dishroom position at Merrillville Community School Corporation?
SCHEDULE: 10:30 am – 2:15 pm (3.75 hrs.) Monday through Friday when school is in session
and lunch is served
DUTIES: Sets up dish machine, operates dish machine, keeps all dish room areas clean and
record dish machine logs daily. Break down and clean dish machine after lunch is
served. Clean all sinks and both hand sinks in dish room area daily. On Friday –
clean and delime dish machine and conveyor belts. Sweep & mop all dish room
areas daily. Ensure that all dishes are clean and put away at the end of the day.
Must be willing to come in early when needed and any other duties as assigned by
the Cafeteria Manager.
REQUIREMENTS: Job requires good communication skills including writing and reading abilities
as a successful applicant will need to communicate with students, staff, administration
and the public. Some computer knowledge helpful and must be willing to learn
Point of Sale Cashiering System. Applicant must be able to push, pull or lift items
weighing at least 35 pounds. You will also be required to attend any job-related
training as provided by the Food Service Dept. During probation, must be able
to pass the Food Handler Test with a passing score.
