JOB SUMMARY
Assist with the evaluation of a student referred due to academic, functional, and behavioral concern. The Educational Diagnostician Coach will serve on the student's evaluation team. The Educational Diagnostic Coach will also work with teachers and administrators on effective interventions for struggling students through the RTI process.
Reports to: Executive Director of Special Education
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct multi-method and multi-source psychoeducational evaluations and reevaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Utilize professional standards for writing reports of evaluation results
- Interpret and explain assessment results in a format understood by educators and parents while providing relevant recommendations, strategies, and resources based on results
- Utilize varied models and methods of assessment and data collection for identifying strengths and needs of individual students and the broader school community, developing effective services and programs, and measuring progress and outcomes.
- Attend case conference committee meetings and actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems
- Participate as a member of school educational planning teams, building based problem solving teams, and staffing teams to develop assistance for at-risk students
- Provide services consistent with ethical, legal, and professional standards; engage in responsive ethical and professional decision-making;
- Adhere to all timelines expressed by Article 7.
- Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned by administration
Qualifications Requirements:
- An Educational Diagnostician must hold a current Indiana Teacher’s license in the area of Special Education K-12. General education teacher’s license will be considered
- 3 or more years of teaching experience
- A Master’s degree in Special Education is preferred, with a background of various educational assessments and how to administer the most appropriate evaluations to students is preferred
- Knowledge of IDEA / Article 7
- Effective spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy of information
- Ability to work with teams, either as a leader or participant
- The position covers multiple school buildings and sites and requires use of personal vehicles for travel with mileage reimbursement.
EFFECTIVE: 2024-25 school year, 184 days
ASSIGNMENT: Full Time
