What are the responsibilities and job description for the Point Server Assistant position at Merrimans Hawaii?
Title: Server Assistant
Reports to: Point Manager
Summary of Position:
As part of the Merriman’s team, the server assistant is responsible for assisting the point server with guests and service within their perspective section in all aspects of service. This includes initial greet, water service, upkeep, clearing plates. You are expected to enhance the guest experience and interact with the guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Upon arrival, first, make sure all guests on the deck have water and a water carafe on their table
- Check with servers on their immediate needs
- Throughout service make sure to maintain the following duties:
- Continue to give water to all new guests as they arrive to the Point and greet them “Aloha, welcome to the Point. I have water here for everyone to enjoy and your server “use server’s name” will be right with. Enjoy!”
- Fill all water carafes and place in cambro
- Fill other cambro with ice for water and wine buckets
- Continue to make loops around the deck and bus appropriate tables
- Pre-bussing tables will save you a lot of time and work as service goes on
- Refill water dispensers with filtered water from the service area
- Check and stock water & wine glasses in the credenzas
- Make sure to use towels and spray bottles (located in credenzas) to clean the tables after being bussed
- Maintain bus station with the following glassware racks:
- 1 water glass rack
- 1 buckets glass rack
- 1 rocks glass rack
- 2 wine glass racks
- 1 martini glass rack
- Make sure all rubbish is picked up on the deck throughout the night
- Make sure all torches are lit before sunset and fire pits lit after sunset
- Return torch back to Point Station in bottom middle shelf
- Put umbrellas down after sunset
Personal Requirements:
- Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Ability to work outside in the elements
