Responsibilities
Specialized Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial concrete projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Project Analysis: Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and documentation to assess project requirements.
Management: Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial viability.
Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Work with vendors and suppliers for pricing, cost estimation, and procurement.
Client Collaboration: Communicate with clients to understand needs and tailor estimates accordingly.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and propose proactive mitigation strategies.
Internal Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers, Field Leaders, and our Main Estimator to ensure accurate, consistent project delivery.
Process & Systems Development: Help document, refine, and implement estimation processes for future growth.
Technology: Utilize industry-standard software (Procore, Excel, MS Office) for estimating and project management.
Learning & Development: Willingly learn Merritt’s approach and systems before building your own enhancements.
Qualifications
- 8 Years of Construction Estimation Experience (Commercial Concrete Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Related Field (Preferred, Not Required)
- Proven experience building estimates for commercial concrete work
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices
- Coachable with a process-driven mindset
- Proficient in Procore, Scheduling Tools, and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Clear and effective communicator — both written and verbal
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not a requirement
- Valid Driver’s License and Willingness to Travel within 60-mile radius when required
