Merritt Group is looking for qualified marketers at various levels to support our growing business! We are currently hiring a marketing manager and senior marketing manager.
KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- You oversee and execute work on behalf of marketing clients as we plan, build, and execute marketing campaigns
- You implement strategy and processes and deploy resources associated with marketing account functions - demonstrating ownership and oversight of individual account functions (e.g., advertising, social media, sales enablement, etc)
- You’re the day-to-day client contact
- You anticipate client needs and continuously look for new ways to help our clients communicate with the audiences that are important to them
- You ensure account goals are met
- You stay on top of trends and issues relevant to clients and their industries and make recommendations to proactively leverage the information
- You manage/mentor marketing interns, account coordinators, account executives and senior account executives
- You’re focused on maximizing results for your clients
- You demonstrate curiosity and initiative in technology, digital media, marketing, and creative
- You are a proactive and positive driver of the agency’s culture, image, and brand
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall Account Support & Client Relations
- You assist in setting strategy for and owning the execution of components of marketing campaigns on behalf of clients - ranging from content, digital, advertising/paid media, social media, web and more - ensuring they align to the client’s broader demand generation/sales goals
- You’re able to manage smaller accounts or large programs within bigger accounts with little oversight from the senior team and you meet or exceed all deadlines
- You’re the day-to-day contact for clients on your accounts, you’ve built a strong foundation of trust with them and they see you as an expert in your field
- You effectively drive internal team meetings and client meetings
- You play a strong role in annual, quarterly, and monthly client planning meetings
- You ensure both monthly and long-term goals are set and met for all accounts
- You’re always looking for ways to show value, give meaningful counsel and demonstrate creativity to your clients; you strive to do more than is required or expected in your role; without being asked, you do things for clients and teams that help drive campaigns or programs forward
- You’re able to connect the dots across a client’s programs and campaigns, and you’re starting to think a few steps ahead of the client and beyond what they have asked of us
- You look for ways to think bigger and integrate interdisciplinary ideas (marketing, media, content, social, influencer) where it will advance the client’s goals and play the client-facing role while working behind the scenes with other team members
- You independently lead and manage execution of industry trade shows and client-sponsored events, including trade show planning, coordination and management, event-vendor management, budget management, and onsite execution and support. Some travel will be required, including travel to trade shows where you will be the only employee managing on-site
- You stay on top of industry trends pertinent to the client’s industry and provide insightful recommendations on how to proactively leverage the information
- You proactively and consistently bring new ideas to the table — for clients and/or internal teams or committees
- You’re vocal in internal meetings and internal communications, sharing ideas across your client channels as well as agency channels
People Development
- You’re becoming a strong mentor/coach and oversee the work of each person on your account teams to ensure client goals are met
- You’re able to manage team members, helping them identify and monitor goals that will further their career
- You provide direct, constructive feedback and coaching to teammates; you’re able to communicate about difficult topics in a diplomatic and respectful way
- You play a strong role in the recruiting process, ensure the success of hires, and help provide a smooth and successful onboarding experience
Content Development
- You identify and recommend content generation campaigns that will help advance the business objectives of our clients
- You’re able to produce a range of compelling and persuasive materials with little to no edits needed from the senior team
- You manage the writing and development of higher-level strategic documents, including messaging platforms and campaign plans
- You edit and provide direction on the writing work of other team members
Marketing Strategies
- You’re able to strategize and implement marketing methodologies, including online content strategy and development, multimedia and social media production and management, email communications, electronic database and content management, and web analytics
- You understand strategy and execution of relevant social media channels for our clients
- You work with the team to ensure the development and quality execution of compelling social media content
Measurement
- You help create measurement strategies given the measurement tools and methodologies available to us
- You have the ability to analyze measurement reports and make adjustments to ensure positive progress of our strategic communications campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels
Business Development
- You treat Merritt Group as a client, identifying new opportunities and areas of growth, and engage, amplify, and contribute to our brand
- You participate in new business meetings and provide meaningful input and value
- You project manage the development of new business proposals and create strategic content
- You attend at least four networking events per year
- You are building and maintaining a list of business development prospects and conducting outreach on an ongoing basis as directed by senior leadership
Agency Operations
- You play a leadership role in at least one major agency initiative
- You bring new ideas to the table that help streamline efficiencies across account teams and the agency
