Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Weld Inspector / Quality Control Technician to inspect welds via ID borescope and visual OD inspection in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME BPE standards. This role will involve maintaining shop isometrics, verifying that weld documentation is complete and correct, and ensuring compliance with all internal quality procedures and codes of construction for each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect welds using ID borescope and visual OD inspections per ASME B31.3 and ASME BPE standards.
- Maintain accurate shop isometrics and verify that weld documentation meets project specifications.
- Follow and enforce internal quality procedures to ensure all standards are met during shop fabrication.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for each project in compliance with ASME BPE and ASME B31.3 standards.
- Work closely with the shop team to ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the fabrication process.
- Collaborate with field teams to ensure quality control is maintained throughout all phases of construction.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Welding Inspector (e.g., CWI - Certified Welding Inspector, or ASNT NDT level II (VT)) is preferred.
- Proven experience with ASME B31.3 and ASME BPE standards in pipe fabrication and welding inspection.
- Proficient in using ID borescope and performing visual OD weld inspections.
- Strong understanding of welding processes and codes used in pipe construction.
- Ability to interpret and verify weld documentation and project isometrics.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Familiarity with quality control systems and procedures in a fabrication environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project teams, both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards at all times.
