Strategic Sales & Project Development
- Act as a senior-level technical advisor to customers from concept through execution, identifying value-added opportunities.
- Partner closely with customers to understand their design and engineering challenges, delivering customized solutions that enhance performance, manufacturability, and efficiency.
- Lead the quoting process for complex composite tooling and part projects, balancing technical feasibility with cost strategy.
- Expand and nurture customer and industry relationships to drive business growth and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align quoting, engineering, and production with customer needs and timelines.
- Monitor and report on market trends, sales pipeline, and customer feedback to inform company strategy.
- Provide hands-on leadership in engineering modeling, including surface design and 3D assemblies (SolidWorks, NX).
- Oversee technical scope and feasibility of projects, ensuring accurate interpretation of design requirements.
- Lead cross-functional project reviews and technical validations to ensure alignment across departments.
- Mentor and develop the engineering team to support innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence.
- Contribute to the planning and development of new service offerings and expansion of engineering capabilities.
- Support the ongoing development of a new milling facility and scaling of operations through strategic input.
- Represent Merritt Precision at trade shows, conferences, and with key stakeholders in the industry.
- Collaborate with other Correct Craft entities on joint initiatives and cross-business opportunities.
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of technical sales or project management experience in composites, marine, or aerospace industries.
- Strong engineering background with expertise in fiberglass lamination and composite materials.
- Proficiency in advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, NX) with a focus on surface and 3D assembly modeling.
- Proven ability to lead quoting processes and develop project scopes.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- B.S. in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
- Experience with CNC machining and large-format tooling.
- Background in engineered product development or custom manufacturing.
- Understanding of molded part construction and marine systems.
- Familiarity with cost estimation tools and technical proposal writing.
