Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Sandblaster is to prepare surfaces by using abrasive blasting equipment to remove rust, paint, and other materials in preparation for coating or finishing. The Sandblaster ensures surfaces meet quality and specification standards while adhering to safety guidelines and procedures. Additionally, the Sandblaster should serve as a contributing team member and individual contributor to the overall success of the team.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work SECOND shift hours
• Prepare, prime, and paint pumps, parts, and various equipment
• Mask and cover surfaces not to be painted
• Operate and maintain paint spraying equipment
• Examine finished parts or equipment to ensure proper surface prep and finished quality
• Order paint and keep equipment in a safe, clean condition
• Sandblast equipment in preparation for painting
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in industrial painting or production painting
• A Good Learning Orientation
• Effective Time Management
• Ability to lift heavy objects (75lbs) and perform strenuous physical labor
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
