SUMMARY
The Security Administrator's role is to ensure the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers, Cellular telephones, BYOD devices and network connections. This includes checking server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting. This person will also analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
- Assess the need for any security reconfigurations and execute them with approval when required. These include but are not limited to the implementation of penetration testing of all systems in order to identify system vulnerabilities.
- Keep current with emerging security alerts and issues through research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform security improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
- Assist in the deployment, management and maintenance of all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software.
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Manage connection security for local area networks, wireless networks, and e-mail communications.
- Configure and report on security systems and GLI/NGCB/PCI security audits.
- Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution.
- Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach.
- Be competent in operation of SIEM, Firewalls, Sandbox, Analyzers and all other security appliances.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Must have working knowledge of security concepts and strategies, including network, Internet, and platform security.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment towards successful results for the company. Requires technical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written skills are required in order to communicate to all levels within the company and vendors.
- Proven expertise in handling user problems and vendor relationships.
- Comfortable with operating high-end security appliances, sandbox technology, cyber-security, firewall configurations, data encryption and log analytics.
EDUCATIONS REQUIREMENTS PREFERRED:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
- Certifications in Security , GIAC, CISCO, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED Certificate required. Any combination of education, training, or experience listed that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for degree requirements. Minimum of one (1) year of job related work experience. Previous casino/hotel industry experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to accurately communicate reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. A high level understanding of interpersonal skills to productively deal with business contacts and team members at all levels of the company. Possess a strong attention to detail and engaging presentation skills. Has the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, clients, and general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and calculate figures and amounts. Such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills are a must.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate. Effective time management and multi-tasking abilities are a must. A successful candidate must possess the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. A professional appearance is required.
