A Brief Overview

The Global Medical Affairs Communications Intern for Global Medical Affairs will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of strategic communication initiatives. Reporting to the Associate Director, this role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical aesthetics industry, contributing to meaningful projects that enhance the visibility of Global Medical Affairs’ scientific innovation. The intern will support in developing content and coordinating with media and HCPs to garner positive coverage around Merz Aesthetics scientific achievements and thought leadership activities as they relate to Global Medical Affairs communications.

Communication Support

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and dissemination of communication materials, including internal news posts, external toolkits, press release and newsletters.
• Support milestone communications, including communications for congresses, publications, and other conferences.
• Contribute to the development of educational campaigns to inform employees about updates and scientific achievements from global medical affairs.
• Conduct research on industry trends and best practices in medical and scientific communication.
• Assist in developing reports on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, leveraging KPIs and analytics tools.
  
  

Content Coordination

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for newsworthy information.
• Assist in the creation of infographics, and other social assets that simplify complex scientific data for diverse audiences.
• Support consistent messaging aligned with Global Medical Affairs’ vision and mission.
  
  

Stakeholder Engagement

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify storytelling opportunities that highlight Merz Aesthetics’ leadership in innovation.
• Support engagement efforts with media, assisting in the preparation of materials and press releases.
  
  

Project Management

• Track and manage timelines for communication initiatives.
• Assist in coordinating with third-party vendors for content development, analytics, and other project needs.
• Maintain a repository of communication resources, including press releases, media coverage, and campaign metrics
  
  

Education (Preferred Majors)

• Required:
• Rising Junior & Rising Senior in a Bachelor’s Degree ( in life sciences discipline with relevant communications-related experience))
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Required:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Interest in the pharmaceuticals, aesthetics, or healthcare industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Understanding of medical or scientific terminology and trends.

• Preferred:
• Experience or coursework in scientific communication, digital marketing, or media relations.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and multi-channel communication strategies.
