The IT Endpoint Configuration Manager role at Mesa involves a strong understanding of the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager platform along with expertise in :
- Software package preparation and deployment
- Update and patch deployment
- Operating system and driver deployment
- Compliance baseline authoring and deployment
The most suitable candidate would be someone who has mastered Configuration Manager having administered it for at least 3-5 years in an enterprise-class environment (Mesa is not seeking individuals whose knowledge is limited to study and lab activities). The candidate should be confident in their capacity to manage day-to-day operations and troubleshooting complex problems. The candidate should possess the skills necessary to hit the ground running. An understanding of concepts such a Client Configuration, Boundaries, Site Server Role Setup, Configuration Baselines, Asset Intelligence, SQL and WQL queries is also necessary. Confidence managing Microsoft inTune is also important as a growing number of system management tasks continue to migrate to inTune over time.
The candidate will also need to have strong skills in Powershell scripting as it relates to systems management and administration and since there is also a significant shift to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure due to the increasing distributed workforce, a solid understanding of technologies such as VMWARE HORIZON would be beneficial or at least software management within this environment.
The icing on the cake would be familiarity with deployment of advanced engineering software such as products from Autodesk, Dassault, Bentley and more. While many MECM admins know how to deploy Microsoft Office 365, it would be great to find someone who has experience deploying more complicated applications.
